PHILERGY German Solar promises not just the highest quality solar system for your home and business, but also a worry-free after sales service and utmost support towards the completion of your system’s net metering process.
What is Net Metering
Net metering allows homes and businesses with grid-tied solar systems to automatically sell excess solar energy back to the distribution utility—example, Meralco—in exchange for peso credits on your bill. Credits can then be used at the end of each month to pay for and decrease charges on your overall electric bill.
Essentially, the net metering scheme will give you a bill equal to your consumed energy from Meralco, minus your earned peso credits from excess energy sold—lowering your bill even further!
Net Metering Application Process with PHILERGY German Solar
Step 1: Submitting Documents
PHILERGY German Solar will fill out, request and submit the following documents on your behalf to the responsible Distribution Utility (DU) branch:
Letter of intent
Plant Parameter Form
Application for interconnection
ERC Certificate of Compliance
System Owner’s government-issued ID
Recent Meralco bill
Step 2: Request for Distribution Impact Study
Once the application is reviewed and approved, the DU will send a letter of request for Distribution Impact Study (DIS) along with a service fee that the system owner has to settle in the DU business center assigned. This is for them to assess if your home is a right fit for net metering.
Step 3: Distribution Impact Study Results and Requirements
After conducting the study, the DU will release results and inform you of the required modifications needed to bring net metering into your home through a yellow card. An accredited technician will perform these changes for you, and provide a Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI) that will be applied for in your City Hall.
Step 4: Contracts and ERC Certificate of Compliance
Meralco will provide you with a Fixed Asset Boundary Document (FABD) and net metering agreement to look over, sign as the system owner, and notarize. Once completed, you just have to submit it back to your DU’s Business Center, along with a Manager’s Check amounting to 1,500PHP addressed to Energy Regulatory Commission.
Step 5: Meter Installation
Once all requirements are complete, your assigned DU engineer will schedule a date to install the net meter. After commissioning is finished and approved, you’re done and ready to sell excess energy automatically and save even further!
