PASAY CITY, Philippines - PHILERGY German Solar was invited to speak at the recently concluded 9th Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) Student's National Convention held at the SMX Convention Center with the theme "Elevating the Capabilities of Mechanical Engineering Students towards a Sustainable and Progressive Philippines".
Olaf Heyns, PHILERGY's Head of Sales, shared with thousands of engineering students the importance of shifting the country's dependence on coal and fossil fuel in generating energy to a more sustainable source: renewable energy, especially solar.
"It is predicted that coal may end, from the perspective that we are using the coal in a similar way like today, in around 110 years. The same would happen with gas and oil," Olaf stated. He emphasized that the Philippines is at an advantage with all the sunlight it gets, 12 hours a day most of the year, as compared to the around 6 hours of daylight in Germany.
With the Philippines being one of the most expensive electricity rates in Asia, a solar system not only protects the consumer from increasing prices, it is a clean and sustainable energy source that helps our environment.
The PSME National Convention aims to maintain the integrity of the profession, promote excellence in professional practice, promote fellowship and cooperation among mechanical engineers and instill nationalism among members, and contribute to the enhancement of science and technology and economic growth of the country.
We are your reliable partner in better, cleaner and cheaper energy in the Philippines.
